How 2 Passions came together. Numbers and Music
Reflecting on my career, I never really thought about how numbers and music can complement each other. If you looked at my resume, you’d see Data Insights, Pricing, Finance, Operations
VP Commercial Finance
Sergio Mendes is an accomplished business leader based in Norwalk, Connecticut, with over a decade of experience in Sales Leadership, Finance, Operations, and Revenue Management.
Sergio P. Mendes has shaped his career around uncovering the meaning behind the numbers.
He now serves as Vice President of Commercial Finance and Revenue Management at Palm Bay in New York, partnering with leadership teams to evaluate performance, strengthen planning, and guide strategic decisions across national partnerships.
Positioned at the intersection of finance, operations, and sales strategy, Mendes spends his days analyzing data, building business models, and uncovering areas of opportunity for the organization. His path into finance wasn’t traditional—it began in computer science.
“I’ve always enjoyed solving problems,” he says. “If you know how to interpret it, data tells a story.” That perspective has influenced his professional journey for nearly twenty years.
Before entering the business world, Mendes focused on technology. This mix of technology and business knowledge would later help him analyze complex markets and operational data.
Outside the office, Mendes spends much of his time focused on music. He continues to play guitar and enjoys attending concerts whenever possible. “Sports and music remind you to stay present,” he says.
Mendes believes curiosity played the biggest role in shaping his career. He built his path by constantly asking questions and learning from each new challenge. “I’ve always tried to understand how things work."
